Help
Short answers for permissions, connection issues, accounts, and match credits. New here? See how random video chat works on PurpleCam before troubleshooting.
PurpleCam may provide free match credits. The matching flow shows any remaining credits. While credits remain, video matching does not spend coins. After they run out, the app opens the coin purchase flow before additional paid matching.
You can start without filling a long profile. Entering matching creates a lightweight guest session so you can join the queue.
No. Matches are live video sessions with one other person — they can see and hear you during the call. Avoid sharing personal details. A guest session reduces profile setup; it does not make you invisible on camera.
Yes. PurpleCam works in modern mobile browsers. Allow camera and microphone access when prompted, and keep your browser updated.
When your browser shows a permission prompt, choose Allow. If you previously blocked access, open site settings for PurpleCam, set Camera and Microphone to Allow, then reload and try again.
Common causes include denied browser permission, another app using the camera, an outdated browser, or disconnected hardware. Close other video apps, confirm permissions, and retry Start Chat.
Check that microphone permission is allowed, your device is not muted, and no other app has exclusive mic access. Then reload and rejoin matching.
Start Chat puts you into the matching queue. When a partner is found, you join a live two-person video session. Availability depends on online users and match capacity. If free match credits remain, they apply first; otherwise matches use coins from your wallet.
Yes. During a match you can use Next to continue matching, or hang up to end the current call.
When you can open the other person’s profile, choose Report. Pick a reason and, if useful, select up to 3 photos from your device before submitting. The current call UI does not show a dedicated Report button. The report flow does not automatically capture a screenshot. You can also Block the user from the same profile menu.
The current PurpleCam web client sends camera and microphone tracks to the live call and does not create or upload a video or audio recording of that call. It does send operational records such as match requests and call start, connection, and end events. Voice messages are separate: the browser records a short audio clip only when you choose to create and send one. Reports upload only the photos you select; they do not automatically capture the call. This description is based on the current web client and does not claim what infrastructure providers may log outside the product UI.
Email [email protected] for account, matching, call, payment, and safety questions. You can also use in-app Report from a user profile when that profile is available.
Check your setup before a call with the local camera test and microphone input test.
